Student's Conference

From June 17th to the 20th, we had another “Born to Win Our Father is the King” conference. The first one this year was exclusively for P7 students. But the more recent conference was for all Vision for Africa students in the universities and vocational schools throughout Uganda.  About 300 students attended, with 101 students coming from outside universities.

The mission of the conference was for these young people to feel the presence of God. The mission was successful.  As the music played and as our leaders spoke, you could see and sense that God was speaking personally to those who attended.
For example, one of the biggest topics covered was forgiveness and forgiving your parents. Forgiveness is a very delicate subject because it makes you think of those who have hurt you. But the speakers shared their own personal testimonies of how forgiveness gave them personal freedom and allowed them to heal from past hurts. Many of these students were able to forgive their parents and those who have wronged them in the past. In this process, many felt the presence of God and expierenced the love of their Heavenly Father.

In between conference times, we enjoyed sport competitions such as pulling the rope and football.  On Sunday, around 24 students were baptized in the new swimming pool. Even though many of these young people did not know how to swim, they were still willing to enter the water as a sign to God that they wanted to belong to Him.

Thank you for all your prayers and support! The conference reached many young lives!
